Automated Solutions - When Every Second Counts

As can be seen in a recent article in Wall Street Technology, computer performance is considered absolutely vital when it comes to stock market trading. Ask anyone who has ever glimpsed the breakneck speed at which trading takes place, and you'll understand: even a slight glitch in performance could mean millions of dollars made or lost. Hence, a regular event attended by top Wall Street IT executives and vendors alike is the High Performance on Wall Street conference and event, at which are shown and demonstrated the very latest in cutting-edge hardware and software.

In computing environments such as this, everything that can be automated is automated. To do otherwise is folly; your competition in the next building over is going to beat you to the punch on analyzes, buys and sells. The same could be said for the behind-the-scenes operations of IT; if as many tasks as possible are not performed automatically, that same competition will have their systems fully running and be implementing the very latest solutions while your IT personnel are fiddling around with some manual operation.

One of those tasks is defragmentation of disk drives. Obviously, financial trading demands the fastest access disk access possible, and file fragmentation, slowing down that access with multiple I/Os per file request, must be prevented. Many enterprises have implemented scheduled defragmentation as a solution; defragmentation runs can occur when system activity is at an ebb, when it won't impact production, and IT attention can go elsewhere.

But with today's frantic business activity, now on a global scale, those ebbs are less frequent. Hence, defragmentation might very well slow production when it is run. But even worse, scheduled fragmentation, due to today's colossal disk capacities and file sizes, is no longer performing complete defragmentation when it runs; it is leaving fragmentation behind to continue hindering performance.

To the hidden creeping of fragmented files can be added the extra IT time it still takes to analyze fragmentation across a system and set up schedules to hopefully control it. Remember: everything that can be automated should be automated, and this IT time could certainly be far better spent seeing to the implementation of intelligent solutions.

Fortunately, cutting-edge technology has evolved in the area of defragmentation as well, and solutions are now available which will defragment drives invisibly, automatically, without scheduling, and without impacting system resources.

Announcing The Secret Of Financial Freedom

There are many millionaires in the world who are very wealthy but who
do not by no means have ultimate freedom. Let me give you some examples.
Monica's father's friend comes from the same village as her father.
They moved to Madrid 35 years ago looking for work.

Now 35 years later, his friend (nino is his name) is a
multi-millionaire mainly due to his bar which is in a very
busy spot in Madrid. The thing is he still works there and so
does his wife! They have it made but they still slog at their
job for 12 hours a day between making the food and serving the
drink out.

I don't care how much money he has, thats not freedom to me.
Also here in Ireland, the amount of businessmen and women I know who
are multi-millionaires but don't have a second to spare every day due
to their hectic work schedule is huge. They kinda treat it like a job
(irrespective of the money) and they get in to a rut. Plenty of
money but no time to spend it. Then when I ask, why not get someone to run
their business for them?, they look at me sideways!

Thats why network marketing is so different. Earning $20k a month
on a beach somewhere. Thats financial freedom!

Remember when your downline are making money you are set. The road
can be rocky at the beginning but once your business but more
importantly YOU open up, your dreams can be fulfilled.

Never let go of your dreams and your dreams will find you if you
take action

Unprotected Email - Can You Afford the Loss?

People constantly exchange personal and professional unprotected emails containing confidential information often without considering the potential consequences of such transactions. Email is used both for communication and is often the preferred method of routing documents both within and outside company walls.

Corporate Espionage

Businesses of all sizes have succumbed to forms of corporate espionage. Some instances make the front page such as when a touted Ferrari engineer Mauro Iacconi reportedly passed wind tunnel data to Toyota(1) and Hewlett-Packard's legal fiasco with one of its former executives Karl Kamb. Email threads show that HP attempted to gain access to computer rival Dell's plans to enter the printer business(2).

Billions(3) are spent each year on firewalls, anti-virus and other security tools to protect internal information from threats beyond the corporate perimeter. While corporate dollars are allocated for such measures, relatively little effort is given to protect email data as it travels across the internet.

Outbound Email, a Valuable Commodity

With all the millions of email sent each day, why would anyone want to read my emails? Internal and outbound email communications can contain your most important company secrets. Think about the many invaluable pieces of collateral kept on your firm's computers and shared drives. Emailing any of these outside the firm could negatively impact your company's commercial relationships, clientele and prospects.

These documents represent your business's time. Edgar Kully of Crestwood Associates, a Market Research firm in Kirkland, Washington, spoke to ESS about how this practice impacts his business:

"When a client takes your proposal and passes it onto a competitor with the instructions of, 'this is a great approach, can you duplicate it for less money?' we are getting screwed. It's one thing to argue price with a client, but a whole other thing when your intellectual capital is given away to make your competition smarter."

Should smaller firms take this lying down? Each time intellectual property (IP) is stolen from small and medium sized firms, it essentially puts the economy at risk.

Small firms stimulate the economy and account for 99.7 percent of all employer firms(4) and are 60 to 80 percent of net new jobs annually over the last decade(5). SMBs need solutions to prevent IP from leaving its doors and inevitably affecting U.S. economic growth.

Protecting SMB Assets

Every time an email is sent out by an SMB, a sender must rely on luck and the mercy of its recipient for assurance that sensitive information isn't leaked. All too often, data is "Frankensteined;" cut up, stitched together and then parceled out to the competition.

Here are just a few ways your email can be stolen:

  1. Insider leaks and redistributing sensitive content.
  2. Corporate scanning of outbound and inbound email content - insiders may be tempted to gain access to the companies email logs, thereby compromising executive and other departmental communication.
  3. Interception at the ISP server level- it is possible for an ISP insider to get a hold of your email and attachments.
  4. Cross-border interception - when emailing internationally there are often few legal safeguards to keep your email and attachments from being hijacked.

  5. Interception of your wireless (WiFi) signal
  6. Access to your email account is stolen

The only way to truly prevent your email from being intercepted and redistributed is to use email encryption with rights management controls (also referred to as DRM). Email encryption with robust controls like rights management ensures the secure transfer of email and attachments between sender and recipient.

SBRM Solutions

What about the cost? DRM technology which was once exclusively for large Enterprise entities and the financially privileged. These tools are becoming accessible to the small and medium businesses. SMBs no longer have to rely on luck and the mercy of its recipients to keep sensitive information protected anymore.

SBRM Advantages

Are SMB solutions just as good as Enterprise DRM? Small Business Rights Management (SBRM) software can be just as robust, flexible and support just as many file types as ERM (Enterprise Rights Management) solutions.

Email encryption and rights management used by small and medium firms level the business playing field when going toe-to-to against their large Enterprise business.

Email encryption can:

  • Enable small businesses to quickly send protected email and files to anyone with an e-mail address and a PC, securing email privacy between intended recipients.
  • Provide encryption to ensure safe transit of email, ensuring both sender and recipient is legitimate.
  • Prevent forwarding, editing, cut/copy/paste, printing, and print screen capture. Also allows sender to set access dates to sensitive data.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other data privacy legislation.

A SMB firm's intellectual property doesn't have to be a tool to make the competition smarter. Using an extra layer of security can be the difference between being a market leader or falling behind the competition.

Reverse Phone Finder

There are probably thousands of reverse phone services on the Internet. The only problem is that they charge an insane amount of money for every reverse search you make. Many services even have pay per search fees that can be as high as $25 per search. Imagine how much money you could save if you had a an access to free reverse phone finder?

However, there is a problem with finding a free reverse phone finder. Most internet users either don't know where to find such services, or simply have no idea that they exist. I know it can be hard to find, but it is possible. I have spent many hours looking for a reliable and legitimate reverse lookup service. I have tried many of them, over six to be exact and most of them were complete rubbish.

But my persistence helped me find the one that is truly amazing, it's probably the best reverse phone finder on the Internet. It has the largest database of phone numbers, other similar services are no match to this one. Another good thing about this is that as a member you can an access to other databases like background checks, people finder databases, sex offender registry and much more.

I have been using this service for a while and I cannot complain, it was able to lookup every phone number that I searched for, which makes it my favorite reverse phone finder on the Internet. Their support is very responsive and friendly, and the amount of information you receive in your report is huge.

If you would like to save money then I recommend this service to you. I can't tell how much cash it have already saved me and will save in the future. It's the best investigation service that delivers such value and support.

If you would like to find out more about the service I am using feel free to visit my personal blog. I guarantee that you will save hundreds of dollar with it.
